Happy Canada Day!

Yes, it’s Canada Day up here AND Niece Anna’s birthday!  Seems like cause for a blog entry, I say.

Temps are pretty warm today–mid to upper 80’s.  There is not a whisper of a breeze, so folks are going out early and later, coming in for a rest in the middle of the day.  Perch continue to be biting pretty well and we’ve seen plenty in the last couple of weeks.

Gruper caught a nice smallie off the dock today.  We see them bubble up all over the place.

Bob A. released a nice 25″ walleye last week but it popped from his hands before his lovely bride Barb could get a photo:(  That’s OK, Bob, what counts is that it’s back in the lake!  Bob caught some other nice walleye over 20″ as well.  Cindy released a nice 22″er yesterday.  She and Lee are hilarious:  they wander out fishing mid to late-morning on the bluest-sky, brightest days and catch walleye.  Honestly, days that should be tough are easiest for them.  Must be clean living…

Several of this weeks guests are from our home area in Iowa.  Mike E. is a good friend and visits pretty much annually.  We have some newbies as well and hope that they have a successful week.

Michael has completed his first week at Tall Pines Camp.  He seems to enjoy the job and is eager to learn.  We’ll take that!

Let’s get started on some photo catch-up.  Kevin, Aaron and Dave were here ’bout three weeks ago.  They let me dump their camera and take what I want.  First, I think you should meet them.  They are horny,

hunters of fish who catch a little bit of everything.

They are also incredibly goofy and fun when fishing

and in general

They find beauty even in a week of mostly inclimate weather

I’ll bet they have a great time wherever they go.  We’re glad they go here, though;)

Until next time, “tight lines” as they say:
