Hunting Info

Fall Grouse / Duck Hunts

Open Season: September 15th through December 15th.

Limits:

  • Daily: 5

  • Possession: 15

There is an abundance of grouse in our area. There are countless logging roads to drive down and also many trails for those who want to do a little walking. There is plenty of duck habitat accessible from the lake as well.

Rates: Does not include license, taxes 

  • Cabin Only: $500

  • Cabin with standard boat: $610

Things to bring: blaze orange vest and hat, valid hunting license from state where you reside, ammo (must be steel if duck hunting) 

You'll also need a valid Ontario outdoors card and small game license (zone 5)

Open Season: August 15th through October 1st

Limits: 1 per hunter

There is a strong population of black bear in our area. The average bear is about 200 - 250 pounds with larger bears running in the 350 - 400 pound range.

Firearms: rifle, shotgun, muzzle loader, bow, or cross bow

Rates: $1500 (does not include license, taxes or export permit fee of $35).        $500 for extra guest (non hunter).

  • Includes:

    • Cabin, standard camp boat and fuel for the week 

    • Pre-baited site prior to hunt and for each days hunt. 

Things to bring: Tree stand (ladder type works best), blaze orange vest and cap, camo hunting clothes - nothing too heavy (hooded sweatshirt is plenty), camo gloves, head net (it can be very buggy in the bush), scent eliminator spray, rubber boots (there are some marshy areas), good sharp knife for skinning and field dressing.

You'll also need a black bear hunting license as well as a Black Bear Hunting License Validation Certificate.
